Wall Mounted Motor Starters

Contrelec has a a unique on-line combination motor starter configurator which allows you to build a motor starter to your unique specification. Engineering Design and Project Management

We develop projects from initial concepts through to completion, providing a complete, project-managed solution. We use the industry-standard AutoCADâ"¢ for our electrical schematics and 3D mechanical designs. This is supported by our own software add-ons which we use to assist with design and analysis.

SCR Drives and Generator Controls

We have particular expertise with power systems and DC or AC variable speed drives. We have highly specialised knowledge about drive systems for Oil Rigs, and have unrivalled experience in design, modification, repair and testing of Ross Hill and Hill Graham type SCR systems.

PLC Controls

We are able to provide design and trouble-shooting services on control systems based on the Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE and Omron ranges of PLC controllers

AutoCAD Electrical Design

We use AutoCAD Electrical to produce accurate electrical schematics to recognised international standards. Our rates are very competetive, and our turnaround fast. We use our own, bespoke production aid tools, such as our unique Wirelister Program which can produce accurate wirelists that panel wiremen find easy to understand, and consequently rapidly reduce production time.

Switchboard Design

We use AutoCAD's 3D design capabilities to accurately engineer switchboard designs and produce two-dimensional detail drawings for manufacture. All aspects of the design are modelled including components, busbars, insulation barriers, wireways, trunking, labels and instruments. The benefits of 3D design include: improved build time, accurate design checking, easy to understand assembly drawings and total design confidence. Our scope ranges from simple starter control panels up to complete containerised power generation and distribution solutions.

Short Circuit Calculations, Protective Device Co-Ordination and Harmonic Analysis

Using sophisticated software we are able to model power systems and calculate short circuit levels to ANSI and IEC standards. From the same on-line drawing we can generate time/current co-ordination curves and a comprehensive schedule of device settings. Our Harmonic Analysis tool is able to accurately predict expected levels of total harmonic distortion introduced by variable speed drives, UPS's and other harmonic sources, and analyse the effect of adding filters to the system.
