Automatic Door Testing Control Panel

A control unit for automatic sequential operation testing of doors

New regulations for high specification doors require a comprehensive endurance test of handles, locks and operating mechanisms which may extend to 500,000 operations for each component.

This unit uses a Zelio Programmable Relay to sequence operation of four pneumatic actuators which exercise the door and door furrniture whilst maintaining a count of the number of operations. If any one of the actuators fails to complete it's operation an alarm is generated, and the testing sequence is paused. The Zelio is programmed to display useful status diagnostic and status information on its built-in LCD, including the number of operations counter, which would far exceed the maximum count of any standard digital or mecha for each compomnentnical counting unit.

The unit includes a number of safety and annunciator features, including an output for a warning siren which sounds before the test sequence commences, an output for a a warning beacon, pausing of the testing sequence when a safety barrier is opened and external annunciation of an alarm or unit tests running.

The basic design of this unit lends itself to any number of automated testing applications, and the flexibility of the Zelio Programmable Relay means that even complex test sequences can be implemented and monitored. Contrelec are able to design, build and program automatic testing units for any application.
